Where little feet take big steps

Little Dragons

Ages 3 - 6 yrs

Building confidence, resilience and coordination through playful martial arts

🟦 What your child will learn

Confidence that grows every week

Shy children find their voice, energetic children learn to channel their energy, and all children discover they can try new things and succeed.

Listening, focus, and early discipline

Through short activities and clear routines, children learn how to follow instructions, take turns, and celebrate small wins.

Balance, coordination, and body awareness

Obstacle courses, simple stances, and controlled movements help young Dragons strengthen their coordination and physical confidence.

Respect, kindness, and positive behaviour

We introduce the foundations of martial arts values — respect, courage, perseverance, and helping others — in a way young children naturally understand.

Safe foundations for future martial arts training

Every child develops age-appropriate versions of stances, blocks, beginner kicks, pad work, and teamwork skills that prepare them for Junior Champions later on.

Is my child too young to start martial arts?

Not at all. Our Little Dragons programme is designed specifically for ages 3–6. The classes are playful, structured, and age-appropriate, helping children grow in confidence, coordination and listening skills.

Will my child be safe in the class?

Yes. Safety is our highest priority. All instructors are DBS-checked, safeguarding certified, and experienced in early-years coaching. The environment is controlled, positive and fully supervised.

What will my child learn?

Your child will develop balance, coordination, focus, confidence, discipline, respect and early martial arts skills. We use simple drills, exciting challenges and mini-games to keep learning fun and rewarding.

Do parents stay and watch the class?

Yes. Parents are welcome to stay, observe, and support from the sidelines. Young children often feel more comfortable when a parent is nearby.

What should my child wear for the first class?

Just comfortable clothes suitable for movement. Once your child joins the programme, they’ll receive a uniform as part of their membership.

My child has additional needs — can they join?

Yes. We welcome children of all abilities. Our instructors have SEN awareness training and adapt activities to suit individual needs wherever possible.

My child is shy — will they cope?

Absolutely. Many Little Dragons begin shy or nervous. Our structure gently encourages participation, allowing children to settle at their own pace. Confidence grows quickly with praise, routine, and fun challenges.

How long is the class?

Little Dragons classes run for 45 minutes, the ideal duration for early-years focus, engagement and energy levels.

Will my child start sparring or contact training?

No. Little Dragons do not spar. Training is non-contact, focusing on movement, coordination, balance and safe early-years martial arts skills.

What happens at grading time?

Children progress through fun, achievable steps designed to build pride and motivation. Gradings occur three times a year and are always age-appropriate and encouraging.
