Family Training at McKinstry Family Karate

At McKinstry Family Karate, we believe martial arts is one of the most powerful activities a family can share.

That's why we actively encourage family memberships and welcome parents, children, teens, and siblings to begin their martial arts journey together.

Rather than placing everyone into a single class, family members train in the programme best suited to their age and stage of development:

* Little Dragons (ages 3–6)

* Junior Champions (ages 7–Teen)

* Adults Class (Teens & Adults)

And they become part of a community that supports them every step of the way.

Stand Strong. Grow Every Day. Fight for What is Right.

—all delivered in a safe, encouraging environment led by experienced instructors.

Families who train together don’t just get fitter — they get closer.

🟩 This allows every family member to receive age-appropriate instruction while still being part of the same school community.

A four-year-old learns differently from a teenager. A teenager develops differently from an adult. By teaching each age group in the right environment, we can provide better coaching, better progression, and a better experience for everyone.

Yet the journey remains shared.

Families attend together, encourage one another, celebrate gradings together, and support each other through challenges and successes. Many of our strongest students come from families who have trained together for years.

Training develops far more than physical skills.

Children build confidence, discipline, resilience, and respect.

Teenagers develop leadership, self-belief, and personal responsibility.

Adults improve fitness, focus, practical self-defence, and mental wellbeing.

Most importantly, the values learned in the dojang follow families home.

Every programme includes authentic Tang Soo Do training, including:

* Strong stances and effective techniques

* Forms training for coordination and focus

* Pad work for power and fitness

* Partner drills for timing and control

* Age-appropriate self-defence

* Character and leadership development

All classes are taught by experienced, qualified, insured, safeguarding-trained instructors in a structured and supportive environment.

Families who train together don't simply get fitter.

They grow stronger together.

They build confidence together.

They create memories together.
